Tonight we are going to have another meeting of the Atlanta alt.net user group.  We are meeting at Manuel’s Tavern again, but we are supposed to be in a different room this time.  I know the last meeting at Manuel’s was a little hard to find (if you weren’t there, last time they put us in a side room off another room that was holding a meeting, which had closed its outer doors to the rest of the restaurant). 

This week were are going to be in the “Eagle’s Nest” room, which is located on the other side of the restaurant off the main dining area on its southern side.  Look for the small stairs in the corner of the room.

We are going to be discussing the book, “Agile Estimating and Planning” by Mike Cohn.  If you haven’t read the book, it’s no big deal.  We will be discussing lots of other things, too.

The Atlanta alt.net user group will be meeting this Wednesday, December 10 at 7pm at Manuel’s Tavern (located in the Poncey Highlands, which is east of downtown and south of Virginia Highlands).  The speaker will be none other than myself, and I will be discussing one of my favorite topics – Inversion of Control and Dependency Injection.  Hope to see you there!

Atlanta Geek Dinner

Shawn Wildermuth is hosting another Geek Dinner on the north side of town, at Pappadeaux’s in Alpharetta on October 23rd.  I’ve missed the last few, so I’m really looking forward to getting back in the mix on these.  I love Pappadeaux’s, but hate the fact it’s in Alpha-tucky.  Oh well.

Agile Atlanta

The Agile Atlanta User Group is deviating from their usual scheduled meeting of every 2nd Tuesday of the month for a special event on Monday, October 27th.  Jeff Sutherland, the co-creator of Scrum and one of the authors of the Agile Manifesto is presenting at Turner’s Techwood Campus location.  The topic is titled, “Hyperproductive Distributed Scrum Teams”.  This is an amazing opportunity to hear one of the true leaders in the Agile community speak.  Turner has very tight security, so they are asking anybody who wishes to attend sign up beforehand.  You will need to sign up and present a photo ID for admittance into the building.

Atlanta ALT.Net

The Atlanta ALT.Net group is holding another meetup on Wednesday, October 29th at Thinking Man Tavern in Decatur.  The topic of this meeting is Continuous Integration.  Josh Gough has done a great job organizing these meetings, and I look forward to another interesting and lively discussion.

The Atlanta ALT.Net user group is meeting again this Wednesday, September 24 at the Thinking Man Tavern in Decatur.  If you plan on attending, the organizers are asking people to RSVP in order to get an accurate head count.
